Create Your Own Free Bible Memory Cards

Have you ever desired to make your own Bible memorization cards so that you could memorize God’s word no matter where you are? Here is a simple PDF download to create personal pocket memory cards.

Requirements:

  • The memory card  PDF template.
  • Bible verses that you want to memorize.
  • Card stock paper (you could use normal paper but the cards will not last as long in your pocket).
  • A printer.
  • Scissors.

STEP 1:

Download the PDF memory card template below and then open it.

STEP 2:

Find your Bible verses using any Bible program such as Bible Gateway so that you can copy and paste the Bible verses into the template. This will save you from having to type them in by hand.

STEP 3:

PAGE ONE: Type in your scripture verses (eg. Matthew 1:1). You can input up to 14 scripture verses.
TIP: Press the “tab” button on the keyboard to move to the next box.

STEP 4:

PAGE TWO: Type in your scripture text (eg.  “The book of the generation of Jesus Christ, the son of David, the son of Abraham.”).

*IMPORTANT*  Because this page is going to be printed on the back of the first page you will have a mirror effect. Remember to type the scripture text on the opposite box to correspond with the scripture verse on the first page.

Example:
- PAGE ONE (the pic below), the “top left” box has the scripture verse Matthew 1:1 (green dot)

-PAGE TWO (the pic below), the “top right” box has the scripture text Matthew 1:1 (green dot)

The reason you do this is because you are printing page 2 on the same sheet of paper as sheet one. This will create the scripture verse and the scripture text to be both on the same side of the paper.

STEP 5:

Print the first page on thicker card stock paper. Then take the same page and put it in your printer so that it can print the 2nd page on the same card stock paper. Check to see if it matches and that both the scriptures and verses align properly.

STEP 6:

Use your scissors to cut your cards. Congratulations, you now have your own personal memory cards.

STEP 7:

You can save the PDF you have created by going to FILE and clicking on the SAVE button.

Tips:

Print out blank cards with no scripture and verses on them and whenever you want to quickly add a new memory card just take a blank card and write the verse and scripture with a pen or pencil.

UPDATE May 6, 2012:

    Hi,

Thank you so much for this – it is a blessing! I have been struggling the last few days to make scriputre cards, exactly like this. Now I have found exactly what I was looking for!! You have made it so simple too….

    Thank you again

I haven’t tried it yet… but I am so excited, because I recently made scripture cards and it was such a hassle. This looks easy… I hope it is.

    Many thanks.

Well, I just tried it out, but I’m having problems… the first page I typed looked great, but when I printed the first box didn’t print what I typed.
Then when I typed the actual scriptures and printed… the top two boxes were blank, even though my screen showed them.

Then all of a sudden a box came up requesting my name and email address from some javascript something or other.

    Hi Barbara,
That makes perfect sense. What you did is press the “submit form” button. This will come up with a pop-up window asking for your name and email address. You do NOT need to press that button. In fact I don’t believe it’s even setup to go anywhere. The PDF form is just for you. If you press the PRINT button instead of the SUBMIT FORM button everything should work just fine.

You should be able to save your PDF and keep all your memory verses on their so you can print them out whenever you want. If you keep the cards in your pocket for a long time, they will eventually fade and you may want to reprint them.

take care and thanks for the comment.
